Four connector shapes, one honest list. Each row says whether it is verified, failed, or still being tested, in words.
By connector
| Connector | Typical devices | Status |
|---|---|---|
| USB-A | Desktop and laptop computers | Testing in progress |
| USB-C | Recent Android phones and tablets, recent iPhones, laptops | Testing in progress |
| Lightning-shaped connector | Older iPhones. Physical fit is not the same as data access; see note | Testing in progress |
| micro-USB | Older Android phones | Testing in progress |
Device testing is in progress. We publish exact phone models, OS versions and known limitations here as each one passes or fails. A connector that fits is not a promise that your phone will mount the drive.
Known limitations
- Older iPhones (Lightning-shaped connector). Testing in progress A drive that physically fits may not be given data access by iOS. We publish a claim only after the drive mounts on representative phones in our own testing.
- USB-C iPhones. Testing in progress Where iOS mounts the drive, originals are copied through the Files app (Photos → Export Unmodified Original → Files).
- Android. Testing in progress Android exposes removable drives to apps through the system document picker. Vendor behaviour varies; tested models are listed above as they pass.
- Computers. Testing in progress USB-A on macOS, Windows and Linux reads the drive as removable storage; file-system support is confirmed during incoming hardware QA.
Browsers cannot write directly to a USB drive on a phone; backup from a phone is done by the MemriBank app or the system Files app, never by this website.
